Komatsu is Hiring a Cnc operator Near Milwaukee, WI

Job Overview

The Operator - Shafting Cell at Komatsu will set up and operate CNC Mill / Turn Center, CNC OD Grinder, Gear Hobber / Spliner on 3rd shift.

Performing all machining operations possible on these machine tools. Conducts final inspections, as necessary.

Key Job Responsibilities

Reviews schedule on Cell PC for all equipment in the cell and determines next jobs to run and sequence; secures drawings, charts, tool sheets, programming package, including programming master;

refers to set up procedure, drawings, etc.

  • Determines sequence of operations, presets tools, and loads them in tool changer, spindle heads, etc. as specified, manually edits programs and adjusts machines as required.
  • Selects, loads parts in machines, hitching and positioning. Centers work piece between head and tail-stock or occasionally tightens in jaws, chuck handling piece manually or hitching and positioning with aid of floor operated overhead crane or hoist;

uses mandrels, dogs, steady rests, center plugs and fixtures as required.

  • Attaches and balances grinding wheel to spindle as needed.
  • Safely Performs close tolerance machining operations such as Milling, Drilling, Boring, Grinding, Counter Boring, Spot Facing, Tapping, Reaming, Hobbing, Splining, etc.
  • Manually deburrs as needed.
  • Inspects work pieces to print and routing specifications. Final part cell inspection.
  • Universal CNC Mill / Turn Centers
  • CNC Gear Spliners
  • CNC OD Grinders
  • Gear Hobber
  • Various cutter, hobs, arbors, cutting tools, dressing tools, fixtures and holding device, live spindle tooling, tool changer, gauges and other precision measuring tools, machinist hand tools, steady rests, CNC conversational control programming system, desktop personal computer, etc.
  • Also operates manual jib or floor operated overhead crane or hoist

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Previous CNC Machine Tool Set-up and Operation experience is required. CNC Horizontal Lathe (Mori Seiki with Fanuc Controls), CNC OD Grinder Operation, CNC Gearing (Hobbing, etc.) experience needed.
  • Measurement tool experience is needed (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Blueprint reading experience.
  • Must be able to communicate well within a team structure.
  • Available for work approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to work 3rd Shift.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality-always
  • Team oriented
  • May be asked to work weekends. Ability to work weekends as necessary.
