Kollmorgen is Hiring a Remote Account Manager - Area Sales

SUMMARY In this specific role, the Area Sales Manager (ASM) will drive revenue and sales funnel growth with direct customers within their assigned territory for Kollmorgen branded products. The ASM will assume some established customers and be responsible developing opportunities at new direct customers and new opportunities within existing customers. The ASM will work to foster relationships, document opportunities and work with their team to propose and present technical solutions for customers’ applications. This role is home-based with 50-70% travel within the territory. Valid U.S. driver’s license required. This role will service the Eastern region of the United States mainly in NC/SC/VA/WV/GA/FL/MS/AL. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned. Responsible for development of territory growth plan to drive new direct account development while servicing existing direct accounts. Generate revenue and sales funnel activities consistent with company growth targets. Responsible for close collaboration with customers and internal teams to identify customer needs and develop the appropriate Kollmorgen solution to satisfy those needs. Develop, present, and negotiate pricing proposals with customers using value-selling methods. Provide sales and marketing support to customers – being and advocate for the company and the customer. Assist in defining and implementing sales and marketing plans with Product Management team to support long term sales growth objectives and capture new customers. Coordinate, schedule and execute activities (training, technical support needs, audits, etc.) in the assigned territory in partnership with cross-functional team members as needed. Assists in developing standard policies and procedures to support RBS methods and metrics. Critical Competencies Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to develop strategic business plans, tactical action plans and drive to achieve mutual objectives and goals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, co-workers, clients, and customers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Work within a CRM to document accounts, contacts, and opportunity development. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university required; a combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree. 8 years of technical sales experience. Preferred Requirements BS Electrical Engineering or BS Mechanical Engineering from four-year university. 5 years of B2B sales experience. 8 years of technical sales experience with electrical or mechanical automation products.
