Koinonia Family Services is seeking a qualified individual with experience as an adoptive parent to work as a part-time Parent Partner in our post-adoption wraparound program in Loomis, CA. Individuals with experience with fostering or guardianship may be considered. The program serves families who have adopted children/youth out of the foster care system, and are experiencing challenges with the child’s/youth’s behavioral and mental health.

The Parent Partner duties and responsibilities include:

• Mentor adoptive families, as a part of a multidimensional team providing services to the family.
• Provide peer counseling to adoptive parents to improve outcomes for children.
• Aid families in navigating referrals to services.
• Provide psychoeducation to the adoptive parents through approved trauma-informed curriculum provided by the agency.
• Provide in-home support services, with some services also being performed virtually. Work may need to be performed in the evening hours when families are available.
• Complete documentation for services according to agency standards and timelines.

This is a part-time position. The schedule is about 20-25 hours per week, with some occasional evening and weekend hours. The schedule may vary some as families are referred for services. The pay for the position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending upon overall qualifications and adoption experience. Mileage reimbursement is included for business miles driven. A bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field is preferred, but not required.

Important Note:

Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background clearance through the Department of Justice and FBI as well as a pre-employment physical and TB test. Also, must have a driver's license in good standing, reliable transportation and be able to meet auto insurance eligibility requirements.
