Koinonia Kaleidoscope is Hiring an Early Childhood Teacher (Full Time) Near Greenville, NC

Koinonia Kaleidoscope is adding highly qualified full-time and part-time early childhood teachers to our team. We are looking for energetic, nurturing and creative teachers to join our amazing team, interact positively with families, plan and implement curriculum, and work to maintain a positive and productive early childhood program.

This position is responsible for the care, supervision, and daily development of children 6 weeks to five years old. Principal duties include: conducting focused observations of children, developing lesson plans, carrying out child-exploratory learning activities on a daily basis, evaluating the effectiveness of child development activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, maintaining regular communication with parents both in-person and using technology, and contribute to the effective operation of the center.

Responsibilities:

  • Work well with children of multiple early ages and all center staff
  • Plan educational activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice, and program philosophy
  • Meet the emotional, social, physical, and cognitive needs of each child
  • Contribute ideas and participate in center events for children and families
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with children and parents both verbally and in writing
  • Prepare monthly lesson plans
  • Regularly assess children's development and maintain anecdotal records
  • Maintain daily, positive communication with parents using various technology tools
  • Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff
  • Create an exploratory classroom environment for children on a daily basis
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Attend staff meetings, planning sessions, and center events
  • Provide guidance to volunteers in the classroom
  • Maintain accurate classroom records
  • Meet all applicable licensing regulations with excellence
  • Use the technology on a daily basis

Required Education and Experience:

  • An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and at least 3 years of relevant paid experience in an early childhood setting are required. Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certified and ITS-SIDS certified

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand up to 85% of the day, stoop, sit and bend
  • Must be able to sustain a high level of energy and move from a seated position to a standing position promptly
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust as needed

COVID-19 considerations:

  • Masks are required for employees and children ages 2 years and older except when eating or when outdoors. Daily sanitizing of all workstations and learning/play spaces along with temperature checks when staff and children arrive for the day are required.
  • Full vaccination for COVID-19 is required for all hired staff.
