Supervisor, Logistics (Days)

Location: Onsite at Huntsville, AL

Opportunity

To directly supervise a rotating shift of hourly shipping/receiving workers engaged in the shipping/receiving of Vikrell molding compound and molded bathing components.Must meet posted shipping schedules while ensuring quality, safety, and cost standards are met.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assign labor force to appropriate tasks in line with efficient crewing needs and contractual requirements.
• Ensures that all process and quality specifications are followed in the shipping/receiving of scheduled components.
• Responsible for monitoring shipping results and ensure that budget rates are exceeded.
• Maintain detailed knowledge of process and equipment in order to achieve optimum efficiency.
• Ensures that all shift employees are adequately trained in the necessary process procedures to accomplish assignments efficiently.
• Hold or participate in monthly safety meetings with shift employees to communicate the importance of safe work practices.Monitor and enforce all safety rules.
• Administer labor contract, plant rules and handle appropriate discipline.
• Continuously strive to improve process, process equipment and procedures.
• Encourage shift employees to improve processes.
• Understand and enforce all procedures related to safe handling of hazardous materials and instruct subordinates in same.
• Trained in all applicable SOPs, LOPs, policies, and procedures.

Skills/Requirements

• College degree in related field or equal experience in a supervisory role.
• Experience and demonstrated success in leadership position requiring accomplishment of standards or goals through subordinates.
• Strong communication skills.
