Opportunity
The Sr. Staff Architect will focus on applying sound and diverse knowledge of architectural principles and innovative practices in a broad range of assignments. The ideal candidate will be an energetic and collaborative team member on multi-disciplinary medium and large-scale projects and will function as the architectural lead on small projects. The candidate should have recent architectural design and implementation experience in one or more of the following project types; luxury hospitality, commercial, or residential architecture with an emphasis on both architecture and interior planning and detailing of high-end, custom environments.
The Sr. Staff Architect assumes responsibility for meeting deadlines and customer expectations for assigned projects and is responsible for developing architectural design solutions and collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams on building construction and renovation projects. Responsibilities include architectural design, feasibility studies, code compliance, preparation of visual communication drawings, renderings of exterior and interior architectural elements, construction drawings and specifications, construction observation and quality control. For select projects, the Sr. Staff Architect may manage third-party architecture and engineering consultants, contractors, and vendors though all project delivery phases including design, documentation and specification, permitting, construction and project close-out.
A key contributor and team member, The Sr. Staff Architect works closely with Kohler business leaders, Construction Project Management, Facilities Engineering and Maintenance, Landscape Design, and other key project stakeholders to plan, coordinate, manage, and execute projects. This position serves as a project liaison between Kohler businesses and the internal Architecture and Interior Design studio and will communicate regularly in-person and via written communication with key stakeholders, internal customers, team members and vendor partners. This role requires the ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service, teamwork, transparency, and attention to detail to ensure client satisfaction.
