Opportunity

Under the direction of the Supervisor – Field Service, Industrial Support, the Service Application Specialist, Industrial Data Center Support provides Intermediate factory level engineering and technical support to Kohler Energies channel partners & Data Center customers, which includes intermediate troubleshooting, technical information assistance, application data, warranty processing assistance, and distributor/data center training in a back-up role.

Specific Responsibilities

• Delight Customers by providing Power Systems’ industrial product intermediate level expertise to deliver technical solutions and resolve field issues resulting from installation, application, performance, and operational product problems.
• Provide accurate and informative intermediate level technical advice to distributors, data centers and customers regarding proper generator installation, testing, startup, maintenance, repair, operation, and training. This service is necessary for customer satisfaction and repeated sales.
• Aid and support distributors, data centers, and OEMs with application, installation, and field start-up on existing and new products.
• Reduce costs by performing more advanced warranty claim review and processing, providing technical assistance to the Warranty Coordinator regarding validity of warranty requests by distributors and customers so a just processing of the claim can be made.
• Perform assignments delegated by the Supervisor - Field Service, Industrial Support assisting in all functions necessary to administer Generator Field service policies.
• Analyze field reports, production complaints, laboratory prototypes, and advise and assist in development of a better, more reliable Power System’s product.
• Collaborate with other departments as necessary regarding reoccurring field failures to drive corrective actions, continuous improvements, and innovations to both product and processes.
• Provide consulting service for the Technical Publications Departments as necessary in the preparation and creation of service manuals and bulletins, as well as reviewing rough drafts for technical accuracy and adequacy for their intended purpose.
• Provide technical assistance and advice to Sales Administration about interpretation of certain orders and development of the proper lists of parts for certain specific repairs. This aids in expediting the proper parts to the customer.
• Provide emergency telephone support after hours and during factory and holiday shutdowns.
• Provide similar after sale service support for Residential, Marine, and Portable products in a backup/overflow capacity.
