Opportunity We are growing! Kohler has begun construction on a new 1 million-square-foot manufacturing facility on 200 acres in the industrial corridor of Casa Grande, AZ. We are looking for passionate talent to join our leadership team. This role will be based at our Casa Grande facility once it is open. The role will work hybrid or fully remote leading up to the opening. Significant travel may be required during the construction and start-up phases of the facility.

Specific Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of new advanced manufacturing processes including the evaluation and implementation of automated/semi-automated manufacturing technologies applicable to the development/manufacturing Kohler products
- Develop and improve manufacturing automation processes in support of new and existing products and ensuring timely delivery of highest quality product and safety of employees
- Develop, maintain, and improve as needed process specifications, operating procedures, process controls, etc. in assigned areas of responsibility to help meet and exceed safety, quality, cost, production, and other department objectives
- Provide technical support and project leadership to the manufacturing department as required to ensure plant automation equipment is operating and optimized as well as meets all applicable safety standards
- Manage automation equipment installation and upgrades as needed; create and implement plans to mitigate downtime and performance issues
- Perform time studies of manufacturing processes to be included in the determination of validating manufacturing labor standards
- Research and evaluate new and existing processes, operations, and support systems for adaptation and/or improvements needed to manufacture Kohler and Sterling products to meet all objectives and improve the overall customer experience.
- Initiate, develop, and implement continuous improvement projects in assigned areas of responsibility to support plant manufacturing initiatives, objectives, and improvements needed Design and conduct developmental, proof of value tests on new and existing projects
- Provide digital/CAD support for layouts and work center designs
- Oversee the justification, planning, and execution of individual capital projects to scheduled timelines and within approved budget
- Research and develop cost analysis and justification for new methods, procedures, equipment, and materials
- Lead continuous improvement and innovation projects using Lean Manufacturing techniques
- Evaluate production capacity capabilities of existing operations; recommend and implement enhancements as needed and prioritized by value delivery
- Provide engineering prototypes for testing and evaluation, including digital twin and simulation models
- Implement error proofing solutions that are integrated into the production line automation
- systems, such as the integration of automation equipment, cameras, laser sensors, in-process/post process gage systems, data collection etc.
- Identify manufacturing variability issues and work with Product Engineering, Production and Maintenance to reduce or eliminate variation in manufacturing processes
- Develop and lead cost reduction projects
- Work with maintenance team to establish spare parts strategy, recommended preventative maintenance and frequency, etc. for automation equipment
- Troubleshoot down equipment as required
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program; Mechanical Engineering highly preferred
- 2 years of relative work experience, including successful technical leadership on major automation projects
- Experience with such philosophies as 5S, Kaizen, Poke-a-Yoke, Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma required
- Experience with Auto Cad, vision systems, robotic applications, and FANUC robotics required
- Experience with programming and interfacing (control system interface to networks) desirable
- Must have a proven proficiency in mechanical design, as required to help evaluate and manage improvement projects
- Must have a passion for continuous learning and development of new skills and knowledge
