Electronics Engineering Technician

• As an Electronics Engineering Technician you will conduct electronics and electro-mechanical fabrication and testing for a variety of subassemblies & systems for present and future plumbing products.
• Perform hands-on electrical parameter measurements for new and existing electronic designs.
• Build & test prototype circuit boards.
• Troubleshoot PCB’s to component failure level.
• Implement and monitor qualification and verification tests.
• Support code compliance testing to UL, CSA, FCC, and CE specification requirements.
• Fabricate mechanical test fixturing as directed to facilitate developmental testing.
• Document design & test results in a clear, concise manner.
• Actively communicate to peers, team members, engineers, and laboratory management on a routine basis.

Skills/Requirements

• Two-year engineering-related associate degree preferred and 1 year engineering related work experience or relevant co-op or internship experience;
  • Will also consider high school graduate with 5 years engineering related work experience.
• Entry-level working knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) level component understating and diagnostics required.
• Must have entry-level working knowledge of electrical components and circuits; including both analog and digital circuitry.
• Ability to read and understand schematics and circuit board layout drawings.
• General understanding of PCB construction and assembly techniques.
• Ability to assemble/modify surface mount and through-hole component based PCBAs using soldering irons and rework equipment.
• Instrumentation skills for a wide variety of electronic test equipment; including oscilloscopes, voltage & current meters, temperature scanners and power supplies.
• Ability to utilize hand and power tools for fabrication of mechanical components and fixturing.
