Knox Home Furnishings, a third-generation family business has been in operation since 1955, is seeking applicants for the role of Store Manager and operations.

SALES MANAGER & OPERATIONS

Sales Manager Mission- The mission of the sales manager is to help each of his or her teams attain their goals while ensuring that the management goal is attained.

The range of performance between the salespeople from the top to bottom is reduced, and the high, average, and low is increased.

The management and each member of the sales team attain their goals while living up to the mission of the company.

Provide leadership, vision, accountability, & innovation, helping the organization reach its goals.

Manage the sales team, helping the team meet its goals in all areas. The goal setting, team development, and goal accountability process may be the most important tasks.

Update and maintain company procedures to correspond with current needs. Seeking to innovate and deliver best practices.

Develop a sales force that focuses on repeat clients and referrals, lessening the dependence on advertising and location.

Sales associates follow through with their clients and their numbers indicate successful client relationships.

Ongoing development training of sales associates in Customer to Client Skills . Sales associates support the company selling system of Customer to Client Sales.

Ensure that Sales associates are proficient in those skills. Where proficiency is lacking, generate a plan for improved performance.

Project and track sales performance. Communicate weekly and forecast based on combined individual performance and staffing levels.

Monitor profit margins on merchandise, creating price tags and tagging items. Check freight and cost on invoices, making sure that price tags reflect proper margin.

Help sales associates with individual customers as needed Associates know that they can come to you for assistance and have confidence in your ability to assist them with any step in the sales process.

Create goals for each sales associate before beginning of the month. Develop sales goals for each associate, and help them achieve the numbers.

Collect Customer Opportunity Logs weekly. All sales associates must complete logs daily and log information to review monthly.

Print and distribute the Individual Written Sales Report weekly to each associate.

Walk the floor regularly, focusing on customers, products, and Sales associates. Looking for customers not being properly assisted, floor display problems, product damage problems, tagging or signage problems, and any sales associated related issues.

Sales manager spends a significant amount of time on the floor, customers are properly assisted, and issues are appropriately resolved.

Hold associates accountable for proper administrative, customer service and operational procedure performance. Associates do not mislead customers, cause operational problems, perform tasks in an untimely manner, nor make administrative errors.

It is the mission of the sales manager to develop a properly staffed and motivated Customer to Client focused sales team.

Everyone uses the company’s point of sale system, and there is strong evidence of a high level of service being provided to every customer that enters the store.

Sales goals are consistently achieved.

Coaching sales associates through formal and informal observation. Private coaching sessions occur monthly or as needed.

Weekly sales meetings encouraged for team building.

Develop and properly utilize contests and bonuses for sales staff. Implement creative ways and strategies to increase sales goals or sale items.

Recruit and hire all sales staff, both as needed and ongoing, with the goal of having candidates available on short notice.

The floor appropriately staffed.

Understand the product lines and ensure that Sales Associates are well-versed in product knowledge. Developing relationships with Company Reps.

Development training for existing associates is facilitated in the areas of sales training, customer service, administrative tasks, operational tasks, computer knowledge and product knowledge.

There is strong evidence that ongoing training of veteran sales associates is effective.

New hire training for associates is facilitated. There is strong evidence that newly hired associates ramp up within the first 30 to 60 days on the floor, there is little turnover of new associates, and the level of service provided to their customers is appropriate.

Become proficient about Customer to Client Sales, merchandise, delivery, customer service, computer systems, administrative function, and credit terms.

Possessing the knowledge necessary to be a resource and support system for the staff.

Customer resolution. All conflicts are resolved immediately and professionally.

Coordinate merchandise between the warehouse and the floor. Reconciling items that have been purchased, keeping track of trends, and promoting efficiency in the delivery team.

Develop promotions, events, and sales. Implementing creative ways to increase traffic.

Be responsible for opening and closing the store when necessary . Other duties to help support the organization in efforts to reach its goals.
