Position: Behavior and Academic Support Teacher
This alternative learning environment is a class setting designed to support students with significant social/emotional and behavioral challenges. The class is more structured and has a smaller teacher-to-student ratio to meet success within an academic environment. The curriculum is aligned to the state standards. This structure is based on a level system addressing both academics and behavioral needs of students. Duration of placement depends on student academic, behavioral and social progress.
This classroom offers computer-based instruction as well as traditional textbook-based curriculum.
Academics are tailored to the individual student’s need but also adhere to Indiana State Academic Standards.
Students earn grades and are able to progress in their educational program.
Grades are provided to parents and reported to the student’s home school at a minimum of every 9 weeks, unless additional progress reports are requested to be sent more frequently.
Qualifications: All candidates must possess valid and appropriate Indiana Certification
Salary: Commensurate with experience
Effective Date: 2024-2025 School Year
