Social Worker

Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center is a secure psychiatric center, operated by NYS Office of Mental Health that provides comprehensive forensic mental health services for the restoration of competency and the assessment and treatment of persons with dangerous mental illness. Recovery and hope are promoted through the efforts of the interdisciplinary treatment teams within a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment in which freedom from violence and coercion is a guiding principle.

Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center is looking for up to four (4) Licensed Master Social Worker 2. Positions will start as soon as possible and may continue up to 2 years. The position is expected to be full time, but part time applicants will be accepted. Preference will be given to full time applicants.

An LMSW2 functions as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team providing a full range of Social Work services to patients receiving treatment on a ward at Mid-Hudson Forensic Psychiatric Center. An LMSW2 is also expected to participate in committee groups and assist in developing programs for patients. Senior Social Workers are expected to provide training and supervision for entry level Social Work professional staff and student interns.
Licensed Master Social Worker 2 duties included but not limited to:
- Completion of, and maintaining, medical record documentation within required designated time-frames.
- Participate in assigned meetings: Treatment plan meetings (including 730/330 rounds), Daily morning rounds, Therapeutic Community Meetings, Case Reviews, Incident debriefings in the absence of the Program Coordinator/Treatment team leader
- Facilitate clinical groups during the day, as well as Provide individual therapy to assigned patients

Candidates agree to comply with all pertinent facility policy & procedures, including, but not limited to health & safety, annual TB testing, NYS Dept. of Health regulatory requirements, facility sign in & out procedures & facility/OMH mandated training requirements. The contractor will comply with the mandatory vaccination requirements for Covid-19.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: From $33.00 per hour
