Construction Project Manager – Food and Beverage Processing
Nationwide General Contractor that specializes in the food and beverage industry with in-house planning, design, and engineering services.
Specialists in food facilities. Focus on operational efficiency. Material handling studies to properly size and configure processing and storage areas. Site search, evaluation, and selection services. Fluency in food safety best practices. Fluency in food process engineering and utility infrastructure. In-house architecture, engineering, and construction. Understanding of process flow, adjacencies, and material balance. Value engineering. Open book pricing. A history of delivering high 6 figure utility company rebates. A history of delivering projects ahead of schedule and under budget.
Responsibilities:
This is the primary client contact through the entire project delivery process, from design concept through bidding, construction, and start-up. To ensure project’s scope, cost and schedule are met.
Assist in developing project scope, budget, schedule, and critical path elements. Develop and maintain submittal and RFI processes. Establish design criteria, reviewing design and construction phase documents. Managing permit, code and regulatory approvals. Develop procurement plan; bid packages, bid tabulation, purchase orders and subcontracts. Evaluate potential project bidders. Develop project deliverables, project communication, project outline specifications, conceptual layout, and medium engineering services proposal. Manage bid process fairly and approve bid packages.
Develop detailed project notes, monthly reports, project permitting needs, project forecasting, approve engineering deliverables, construction cost estimates for site and building, approve monthly supplier invoices and client billing.
Organize construction trades and administer subcontracts. Manage project budget and expense approvals. Manag contract and change orders. Oversee equipment installations. Manage project punch-list. Maintain complete project records and close-out documents.
Interact with the design / architect, engineering, construction and sales and marketing teams.
Requirements
Qualifications:
BS in Construction Management or Architecture or Engineering.
5 years of experience within a design-build, General Contractor company working with multiple in-house engineer disciplines, architects, designers.
5 years of experience with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing industrial construction projects, preferably food and beverage or pharmaceutical projects.
5 years of experience with building construction, project scheduling, construction estimating, and construction safety.
5 years as a Project Manager with proven track record of successful project management and demonstrated success delivering numerous projects delivered on time, meeting requirements, with high team satisfaction.
Understanding AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, MS Office, MS Project, SharePoint.
Overnight and local travel requirements: 50%. (75-125 nights out of town annually).
Benefits
Salary Range: $125-150K, Bonus Range based on Project Profitability $10-180K, 70% of health, dental, vision paid by company, Life / Disability, Company match first 3% of salary dollars of 401K, Home Office, $500 Monthly Car Allowance, gas card, travel expense and vacation. Relocation assistance.
The projects are located throughout the US. Projects typically last from 6 to 12 months. Meal and lodging per diem are provided along with reasonable travel provisions. Typically, on-site during the week, home weekends. Some weeks are unnecessary to be on-site but work from home, based on project needs. (50% travel).
