Knobelsdorff is Hiring a Traveling Solar General Superintendent Near , MN

Purpose: In this position, you will be the leader of the field teams; be responsible for planning and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously including planning and designating project resources, preparing budgets, and monitoring progress; all while keeping Knobelsdorff leadership informed from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee field resources from a program level
  • Provide overall division technical leadership
  • Assist PM/CM with planning and monitoring resource needs
  • Evaluate team members' capabilities and skills to use in team resource planning.
  • Set direction around the work plan
  • Set direction around the completion of individual work plans
  • Oversee all construction activities at a program level
  • Steps in and shows Crew Lead/CM/Foreman how to complete the work the KE Way
  • Provides feedback on where processes can be improved
  • Provides feedback to CM/Foreman/Project managers on performance
  • Perform coaching as determined through collaborations with company and project leadership
  • Participate in the interviewing and hiring of CM and Foreman
  • Provides coaching and leadership around production goals and cost management
  • Participate in design constructability review
  • Participate and provides direction around project-specific BOM creation
  • Provides educational opportunities for team development
  • Participate and provides input in overall corporate planning
  • Knowledge of current electrical codes, construction methods, and best practices.
  • Represent the company at on-site walkthroughs for project opportunities as requested
  • Manage in-house crews and subcontractors performing work on projects assigned from a program level
  • Work to reduce costs through good planning and timely execution of the work
  • Willingness to take responsibility for the supervision of projects assigned, coordination with onsite Foreman
  • Review and adherence to project budgets
  • Lead and instill a culture of safety across multiple project sites.
  • Facilitate accurate and timely field reporting through training and reinforcement
  • Maintain quality control methods on multiple project sites.
  • Manage project files, drawings, documents & records in our project system.
  • Assist in recruiting efforts.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of experience leading electrical construction teams. Photovoltaic experience preferred.
  • Leadership with skills to positively influence others, collaborate with teammates, communicate on the level of others, listen and understand people in circumstances common in the workplace
  • Independent work style and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to travel extensively (up to 100%) within regional states, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Willing to travel to work on out-of-town projects.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license that represents a history of safe and competent driving.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, stoop, walk, and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be capable of working in inclement conditions to include extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 80 lbs.
