Knights Companies Inc is Hiring a Precast Inventory and Procurement Manager Near Central, SC

Description

The Precast Inventory and Procurement Manager is a liaison between Accounting and the Precast Plants who is responsible for the procurement of goods, as well as the communication, implementation, and maintenance of system which will record accurate inventory and projects. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains consistent stock of inventory, ordering new stock up to pre-authorized limit as inventory dwindles to ensure production and maintenance needs are met in a cost-effective manner.
  • Partner with Accounting: Purchasing Manager and Plant Managers to assign purchasing authority and set high and low limits for each material.
  • Order lumber in accordance with shop needs.
  • Order lifting hardware as required for specific jobs when needed.
  • Order all wire as needed for stock manholes and boxes.
  • Order replacement parts for machines in the shop as needed.
  • Follow up on all orders placed off of the inventory list on a daily basis.
  • Procures, manages, and maintains the master inventory through software for all locations
  • Complete monthly inventory and submit to Plant Managers and General Manager.
  • Assist in keeping shop and production yard organized and in order.
  • Act as liaison to ensure communication between plants to standardize processes.
  • Establishes and maintains backup source for high-demand items.
  • Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items in need of automatic, recurring delivery.
  • Provides inventory reports to GM, Accounting, and executive team.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
  • Manages the logic behind creating new parts, the creation and deletion of parts and works with finance on the costing.
  • Will partner with Shipping and Plan managers to maintain accurate daily records of materials received and shipments made.
  • Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
  • Ensures cycle counts are done regularly, correctly, and address inventory issues. Assists with periodic (and monthly) physical inventory audits.
  • Partner with appropriate staff to ensure maintenance and schedule repairs annual inspections, maintenance, certifications, and retain records on equipment, including overhead cranes, chain slings and hoist cables Follow up with shop to track daily / weekly maintenance on all machines.
  • Assist in ensuring production personnel are following Quality Control and Safety guidelines.
  • Conducts reporting for department as needed.
  • Perform all activities in a safe manner.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be required as needed.

Requirements

  • Operates machinery when necessary, in the daily inventory routines.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of external and internal customers, including warehouse workers, office personnel and Senior Management.
  • Complete understanding of inventory control policies & procedures, including PO entry, receiving, closing, etc.
  • Proficient MS Office, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors, enabling the best pricing and value for the product needed.
  • Analytical mind with strong math skills.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate staff
  • Prior experience in concrete industry.
  • Present a professional company appearance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and remain compliant with current NPCA, federal, state, local and company regulations.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments.
  • Ability to operate tools required to complete construction projects.
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and kneel as required to construct forms.
