The Concrete Pump Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a concrete pump truck in a rural or urban setting to deliver and discharge concrete products to customers as dispatched.

Essential Functions:

• Perform all job functions in accordance with company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform all job functions in accordance with company environmental policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform pre-trip inspection in accordance with DOT regulations before leaving the yard.
• Drive the pump in a safe and conscientious manner to the job site and back to the yard.
• Operate the pump in a safe and conscientious manner, setting up the system, and cleaning out the pump after the job.
• Perform some maintenance as required. Know the pump well enough to recognize problems and report them to the Shop.
• Represent the Company well by providing efficient work and courteous service.
• Keep the pump and truck washed and free of concrete and grease. Keep the system free of concrete.
• Complete and submit pump inspection forms, job tickets, and maintenance forms in an accurate and timely manner.
• Attend company-provided and/or company-sponsored training classes as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid Class-A or B CDL with a minimum of 5 years’ professional driving experience.
• Current DOT Physical.
• Clean driving record.
• Prior experience operating a concrete pump truck is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of concrete mixes and slump, or the ability to learn and comprehend concrete mixes and slump.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to work a variable-hour schedule.
• Ability to travel regionally as needed.
• Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be self-motivated and an effective team player.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs from chest to an overhead position.
• Ability to push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Meets DOT requirements for hearing and vision.
• Good manual dexterity to climb on and around the pump in weather conditions.
• Possess the balance and dexterity required to safely maneuver around a construction site.
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions, including weather extremes.
