Knight Commercial is seeking an extremely experienced and highly qualified Commercial Construction Estimator with at least 5 years of Commercial Construction Estimating experience. The qualified candidate will have direct experience estimating commercial construction projects, such as hospitality, multifamily and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor and equipment
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors
• Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers
• Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs
• Collecting all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.
• Studying documentation, meeting with clients, and inspecting the construction site to fully understand what work is required.
• Obtaining multiple quotes for each of these and then selecting the most suitable offers.
• Negotiating with service providers to secure better prices.
• Outlining the work plan to gauge how much time will be needed to complete each development.
• Performing risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.
• Accounting for the use of our resources, plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an overarching price.
• Drafting proposals that detail envisaged materials, costs, and time frames
• The ability to work under pressure to meet set goals, budgets and deadlines
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet or estimating software
• The ability to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates
• The ability to manage time well and multitask
• Strong understanding of the residential construction process
• Analytical skills

• The ability to take criticism

Qualifications

• 5 Years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Experience with Hospitality, Multifamily and Industrial construction projects
• Ability to read and understand plans, specifications and scopes of work is required.
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines.
• Extensive knowledge of safety procedures and regulations.
• Must be able/willing to travel
• Proficient with appropriate estimating software
• Strong leadership qualities
• Strong negotiation skills
• Commercial roofing experience is a plus
• Bilingual is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
