Knife River has an excellent opportunity for a Plant Laborer to safely and efficiently assist in the daily operations of the plants. Will perform a wide range of general laboring duties including light equipment operation tasks, assist with plant maintenance and repairs as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks.

Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).

Ability to work outside in all seasons.

Must have a “safety first” attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.

Previous equipment maintenance and operation preferred.

Basic knowledge of plant operation, conveyor system and maintenance preferred.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Operate small equipment and perform general clean-up to maintain ponds /grounds to ensure

environmental and housekeeping standards are met.

Help with plant maintenance and other general laborer duties to ensure the plant runs smoothly.

Use of hand tools and water to clean areas that the equipment is unable to reach.

Operators shall have the ability to conduct daily equipment inspections to identify.

Timely and regular attendance is essential.

Perform other duties as instructed.

Additional Information

1. Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
2. Lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
3. Exposure to dust, fumes, odors.
4. Hand eye coordination.
5. Exposure to mists, adhesives, acids.
6. Frequent and/or extended periods requiring kneeling, bending, and/or twisting.
7. Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting.
8. Working in all weather conditions for extended period of time.
