Summer Program Behavior Technician -Clinic Based

The Knapp Center is looking to identify candidates to join our Summer Social Wellness program, which runs from June 10 -August 16, 2024. Part-time positions are available though if your desire is for a long-term position with the Knapp Center, this can be explored too! Responsibilities include working with children diagnosed with ASD onsite at the Knapp Center. Great position for teachers and classroom aides who are off for the summer!

The Knapp Center's Summer Social Wellness Program is designed for children diagnosed with autism who require social skills intervention in an inclusive setting with similar-aged peers. This program provides an ideal setting for addressing peer interactions, social communication, development of interactive play skills, and engagement in group activities. This Summer Program allows the freedom to forgo a narrow academic focus that is typically associated with extended school year (ESY) services and intensively concentrate on social skills—something that is often difficult to address adequately during the course of the school year. The Knapp Center Summer Program offers a natural setting for addressing a broader range of social skills than possible in other typical environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma. Degree preferred.
• Availability beginning June 10-August 16th on Tuesday and Thursday. Based on performance and desire, opportunities may be presented for a long-term position following completion of the summer program, for those who have obtained an associate degree or higher. Full time permanent positions comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
• Reside in the Youngstown, OH area
• Be able to participate in physical activity
