ROLEWe need an experienced Facilities Operations & Maintenance Associate to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Integrated Veteran Care (IVC) Logistics Department. This is a full-time role and offers long-term job security.Apply today!RESPONSIBILITIESI. Space Planning & Design
Apply analytical skill and knowledge to program evaluation and improvement
Serve as primary contact for issues related to facilities program
Write, revise procedures, prepare documentation, and reports
Justify budget for operation, maintenance, repair of VA IVC facilities
Assist with Facilities Maintenance Program and enforce policies
Prepare analysis of facility assessment results
Develop short and long-term strategies for maintenance
Recognize areas needing improvement and recommend actions
Assist with maintenance, repair, and alteration projects
Assist with design phase of major repair/replacement
Coordinate meetings with agencies and contractors
Analyze, develop, and evaluate architectural/engineering scope
Provide guidance to architects, engineers, and contractors
Use CAD software and manipulate drawings
Use Microsoft Project and other design programs
Materials Management
Serve as alternate receiving agent for ergonomic equipment and supplies
Conduct or maintain inventories of expendable and non-expendable items
Maintain, update, and utilize Generic Inventory Package (GIP)
Share responsibility for managing, coordinating, and storing supplies
Gather and analyze usage data, utilizing knowledge and judgment
Receipt for incoming shipments, determine delivery sites, and store items
Sort and deliver all incoming ergonomic supplies to appropriate personnel
Coordinate repair of ergonomic equipment with contracted vendors
Provide physical escort to vendors delivering equipment or furnishings
Develop plans for storage and arrangement of stock
Determine disposal and condition of materials
Have basic knowledge of supply systems and warehousing methods
Safeguard and ensure proper documentation of received items
Control flow of supplies and equipment
Provide Supervisor Building Manager with inventory copy monthly
Coordinator/Escort Official
Alter established work schedule to support IVC needs
Control movements of un-cleared personnel during altered hours
Ensure personnel access only relevant documentation
Maintain alertness and avoid distractions
Coordinate with supervisor to request quotes from vendors
Serve as primary contact for facilities program issues
Ergonomics
Serve as alternate point of contact for IVC Ergonomic Program
Coordinate evaluations by outside independent vendor
Serve as first line contact for employees with ergonomic discomforts
Update information briefed to Executive Leadership Team
Plan and schedule critical ergonomic evaluations
Facilitate, oversee, and implement evaluator recommendations
Serve as back-up for agency’s Ergonomic Pre-assessment Evaluator
Maintain viable stock of items for customer requests
Schedule and maintain files for each customer’s case
Safeguard Personal Identifiable Information
Assist with workstation adjustments for customers
Collaborate with Primary Pre-Ergonomic Evaluator
