This is an entry level position where the Welder is introduced to the prefabrication ofexterior and interior wall panels for commercial buildings. Additionally, theWelder I receives training on various welding and assembling techniques as itpertains to wall panel production and installation. Approval for all work is required prior tothe Welder completing any tasks.

I.Essential(Core Competencies) Duties

·Read and interpret shop drawings.

·Gather and collect materials.

·Accurately measure and cut miscellaneousmaterials.

·Perform panel layout in accordance withdrawings.

·Pre-assemble panel components inpreparation for weld.

·Perform welds to ensure panel stayssecured.

·Assist in securing completed wallassembly onto crane, lift off jigs and move to the next operation.

·Attends and/or completes welder andsafety training (through KLOVER Learning Management System) as required bymanagement.

MarginalFunctions:

·Perform sheathing of welded panels.

·Other duties as assigned.

II.Qualifications

RequiredEducation and Experience:

·0-1 year of experience with MIG welding(can be a combination of pre or post-secondary vocational education in weldingand work experience).

·Ability and willingness to gain properwelding certifications within two years of employment.

PreferredEducation and Experience:

·1 year MIG welding experience (can be acombination of pre- or post-secondary vocational education in welding and workexperience).

·Experience in a manufacturingenvironment.

III.WorkEnvironment

The work environment will consist mainly of heavy work in a manufacturingenvironment. There may be some exposure to seasonal humidity and extreme heatover 85 degrees, excessive noise, and some vibration associated with the use oftools and equipment. Some hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts,electrical current, caustic chemical, and slippery and uneven walking surfacesexist.
