Job Summary

The basic function of the Corporate Credit Manager is to help maintain/improve cash flow and working capital within the business. This position is responsible for establishing sound credit policies and procedures and administer all credit operations of the company in a manner that will increase sales volume, contribute to the profit of the company, and enhance customer stability, and provide for the prompt turnover and adequate protection of the company’s investment in accounts receivable.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manages a team within the credit organization
  • Responsible for credit management processes for credit organization including functions that may be outsourced to a 3rd party
  • Manages the KMC accounts receivable portfolio. This includes identifying key risks in the portfolio and developing a plan for mitigation, establishing appropriate allowance for doubtful accounts, and approving all bad-debt write-offs
  • Works closely with 3rd party providers to provide support and escalation routes to ensure that service levels are being achieved
  • Support credit organization in managing a portfolio of key accounts which may require customer / site visits
  • Support Credit Management to resolve queries and work efficiently to analyze root cause issues and implement actions to prevent future occurrence
  • Work with Director of Credit to create an accurate weekly / monthly cash flow forecast
  • Work closely with the commercial teams, including Directors and Regional Managers to ensure the customer experience is optimal
  • Prepare various management reports as needed
  • Work closely with the credit insurers, when required
  • Propose companywide credit policies for top management approval and establishes general policies, procedures, and practices governing overall credit operations
  • Responsible for establishing trade receivables goals with management, judicious granting of credit, and maintaining efficient collection practices for the overall company - this includes minimizing bad debt losses for the Company
  • Responsible for establishing best practices for the credit management group
  • Participates with senior management and others in periodic analyses of the market, economy, industry, and business conditions affecting the company’s credit policies
  • Keeps corporate management informed concerning the status of the accounts receivable portfolio, the forecasts of cash inflows, the expenses in administering the department, and any special purpose activities
  • Other duties, as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent business experience
  • 8 years experience in operational credit management
  • Experience in successfully leading a credit organization
  • Proven ability to perform well under pressure and in a high-volume and changing environment
  • Strong experience with Construction Credit (Mechanic Liens and /or Bonds)
  • Expertise in Sales Tax Exemption Certificates and Audits

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Strong ability to analyze financials and related public filings like 10Q and 10K reports
  • Critical attention to timing and due dates or deadlines
  • Strong internal and external communication skills
  • Effective leadership and management of teams
