Klingberg is a private non-profit multi service agency who provides help to thousands of people across Connecticut each year. Our goal is to extend hope and healing to children and families whose lives have been traumatized by abuse and/or neglect in its various forms, sever family problems and mental health issues.

We are looking for a Supervisor to work under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Programs to develop, recommend, implement, coordinate, control, and monitor Klingberg's Outpatient Clinic and Family Therapy Institute. Develop and maintain high quality services as required by law, appropriate accreditation and professional standards, and within the tradition and philosophy of the agency. The Supervisor provides administrative and clinical supervision to Therapists and Interns in the Outpatient Clinic (OPC) and Intern and/or Practicum students under the direction of the Director of Outpatient Programs at Klingberg.

The candidate must possess sound professional training and experience working with children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbances and their families as well as a sound understanding of the assessment, diagnosis, and clinical treatment process. They must have the ability to actively and professionally contribute to clinical case discussions in the context of multidisciplinary treatment team consultations and possess the ability to provide to Therapist and Intern/Practicum supervisees guidance, oversight, monitoring, feedback, support and correction with regards to their execution of the functions of their positions.

Typical Duties:

Assists in the oversite and administration of the day-to-day operations of all aspects of the Outpatient Programs to ensure that service delivery is in keeping with professional, agency, licensing and accreditation standards, and that it is consistent with agency philosophy and values. Implements approved policy; and assists in the establishment of consistent departmental procedures and practices.

Maintains flexible availability for in-office services and supervision of Therapists and practicum and intern therapists, during clinic business hours. Scheduled work hours are arranged with the Director of Outpatient Programs.

Ensures that service delivery is in keeping with professional, agency, licensing and accreditation standards.

Assures that services provided by the Outpatient Programs are consistent with agency philosophy and values.

Ensures adequate staffing for the Outpatient Programs and ongoing staff training to ensure the retention of highly qualified staff.

Facilitates a positive and cooperative working environment among assigned programs; participates in the process as needed and appropriate.

Oversees the Outpatient Programs and staff, and related behavioral health programs as assigned.

Provides clinical consultation and technical guidance to professional staff and students.

Participates and provides leadership in weekly, mandatory program staff meetings.

Spends at least 13 percent, i.e. 5 billable hours, (or other percentage established by program director) of scheduled work hours providing direct billable services to clients and their families.

Participates in trainings/workshops related to child and family therapy, evidenced-based practices and in expanding knowledge base in child mental health.

Supervises 2 interns during the academic year identified by the students assigned University.

Makes referrals to and collaborates with psychiatric, psychological, medical and legal professionals as needed.

Works collaboratively with DCF and other legal/social service agencies involved with the client and family.


Education/Experience/Other Requirements
:

Master's Degree in related area (M.S.W., M.F.T), appropriate current certification/licenses (LCSW, LMFT). Works a flexible, 40 hours per week schedule including evening hours. AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation is preferred. 2-4 years supervised experience in an outpatient treatment setting preferred.
