Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to lawyers and enhance office effectiveness.
Duties:
- Assist in preparing legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, real estate , personal injury
- Organize and maintain documents in physical and digital filing systems
- Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis or other resources
- Schedule appointments, maintain calendars, and ensure timely reminders
- Interview clients to gather case information
- Assist in trial preparation and coordination
- Manage communication with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
- Utilizer document management systems for efficient workflow
Experience:
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal department preferred
- Proficiency in clerical tasks such as typing, filing, and data entry
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Familiarity with document review processes
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
