JOB DESCRIPTION

Title of Position: Analyst III, Network Systems
Duty Days: 235
Pay Grade: IT6

  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology but will accept two years college specializing in Networking Systems or related field and 3 years/field experience with network technology.
  • Demonstrated skills and 3 years experience in the field of network infrastructure analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. Must be able to manage personnel on a daily basis.
  • Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with campus administrators, teachers, parents and students in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to remain current on new and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multi-media and multi-faceted communication strategies and techniques.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible to ensure the health, integrity and reliability of the Klein ISD in-house network infrastructure. Develop, configure, install, maintain, and optimize all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. Apply best practices, support and problem- solving skills to help maintain consistent, efficient and current network communication systems.

  • Design, configure and deploy networks to ensure their secure and reliable operation for fulfilling Klein ISD business objectives and processes.
  • Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
  • Collaborate with district management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network inventory, configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Oversee installations, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of vendor supplied hardware, software, peripheral devices and services with respect to network communications.
  • Ensure network connectivity and compatibility of all network equipment and peripherals such as but not limited to, laptops, tablets, PDAs, telephony equipment, etc.
  • Recommend and submit policies, procedures, and associated plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery.
  • Oversee new and existing network equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Conduct research and maintain current on emerging products, services, protocols, systems and standards in support of Klein ISD network systems and networks.
  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Maintain current disaster recovery databases of procedures, accesses, and contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the IT Manager, Infrastructure, Director, Information Technology and Chief Technology Officer
  • Reports to IT Manager, Infrastructure and Director of Information Technology.

Work Conditions:

  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, hand and power tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Lifting and transporting of heavy to moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.
  • Preparation of materials may involve the packing, moving and lifting of equipment and supplies.
  • Possible infrequent after hour emergency support calls.

Pay: $80,500.00 - $96,000.00 per year
