Summary of Position:

An Associate I will learn to perform project support and coordination on a variety of new and ongoing projects, involving existing structures, which will provide experience and familiarization to the architectural practices of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following is intended to provide a representative a list of activities, duties or responsibilities that may be required for this position. Under supervision, direction and support of the Project Manager/Principal an Associate I will perform, including, but not limited to, the following:

• Perform tasks related to schematic design phase services, design development phase services, procurement phase services and construction phase services
• Attend meetings for the following: pre-bid, progress and project close-out
• Prepare proposals
• Research building codes, product information, and existing drawings
• Conduct site surveys, condition assessments, field testing and inspections
• May attend client meetings
• Prepare reserve studies, transition reports, ongoing reports and property condition assessments (PCA's)
• Prepare cost estimates, drawings, procurement documents, field reports, sketches and specifications
• Coordinate with the CAD department regarding schedules and CAD standards
• Respond to Bidder requests for information
• Prepare addenda for bid document modifications
• Review, tabulate and summarize bids
• Review product data submittals, shop drawings and mock-ups
• Observe field testing by third parties
• Review contractor pay applications
• Prepare change orders
• Maintain appropriate communication with coworkers, contractors, and clients via phone/e-mail.
• Verify all work through Project Manager/Principal and applicable QA/QC processes before work is issued to Client

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• BS or MS degree in Architecture or Architectural Engineering
• 0 - 4 years of experience, including prior intern experience in a related field
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficient

Physical Demands:

• Able to work from heights
• Able to lift 50 lbs
• Sit or stand for extended periods of time
