Inspects trailers as they return to the terminal, removes and disposes of any packing materials and other debris remaining in the trailer; cleans trailer in conformity with Company and customer specifications; reports any damage to trailer or inoperable equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer doors.
• Remove packing material and other debris left inside trailer after the unloading process is complete. Utilize mechanical load lifting equipment to remove heavy debris as required.
• Safely and efficiently operate trailer washing equipment and supplies to clean trailer to required specifications.
• Inspect trailers for damage or broken equipment.
• Properly store, handle and dispose of various cleaning supplies.
• Accurately complete work completion reports and trailer damage reports as required.
• Clean and tidy the work area.
• Such other duties about the trailer yard and maintenance areas as may be assigned.
• Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Ability to read and write work orders and inspection reports in English.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to use hand tools and operate mechanical devices utilized in trailer washing
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Strong customer orientation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. A job involves walking or standing for long periods. Must have ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Some work from heights is required. Must possess the ability to work nights and weekends where required.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
