KLA is looking for summer interns at our Ann Arbor, Michigan location. This position provides an opportunity to work with engineering teams on projects aiming to improve the performance and capabilities of KLA's inspection and metrology tools!
In particular, the intern would work in one or more of the following areas:
Design, model and analyze complex optical systems to fit requirements within specified physical limits of precision optical instruments using software tools including sequential and non-sequential ray tracing software (Zemax, CODEV, LightTools or equivalent). Perform stray-light analysis, physical-optics modeling (incl. diffraction, interference, polarization) and Fourier analysis. Design and/or specify high-precision optical components and modules, such as lasers, LEDs, optical fibers, cameras, detectors and lens systems. Set-up, alignment and optimization of optical components & systems.
Requirements:Solid understanding of optics theory, especially imaging systems is a must! Experience with design software (Zemax, CodeV) and practical experience with statistical analysis is a plus. Hands-on experience with optical set-ups and lasers is a plus.
