Job Overview:

As a sales associate in the Firearms Department, you will work under the direction of the department manager and the store’s owner to maintain a high level of excellent customer service. Here at Kittle’s Outdoor, we pride ourselves on our friendly, attentive atmosphere and strive to engage with our customers in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner to see that their needs are met.

Our ideal candidate must be familiar with computers, as much of our daily operations require working online. Inventory, Point of Sale, Dealer Record of Sales for both firearms and ammunition purchases, ordering and communication with distributors and customers takes place online, so our candidate must be proficient with computers and typing. Attention to detail and accuracy is key in this department.

Because we are a firearms dealer, the ideal candidate will demonstrate competency with firearms and the basic rules of firearms safety. The Gun Room works closely with both the DOJ and the ATF on a daily basis, so a clean record is required. Minimum age requirement is 21 years old, and either possession of, or the ability to obtain a valid Certificate of Eligibility. Once a candidate is chosen, we will assist in the process of obtaining the COE and the ensuing fingerprinting process.

Daily duties:

· Opening and closing of the Gun Room

· Greeting customers

· Ammunition background checks

· Showing firearms to customers

· Acquiring proper documentation for paperwork

· Beginning firearm paperwork

· Releasing firearms to customers

· Maintaining a clean, tidy sales floor and work space

· Straighten, restock, rotate, and organize merchandise on the sales floor

· Assist with quarterly inventory for firearms

· Insure a positive atmosphere for both the customers and fellow employees

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 per week
