Position Title: 5th Grade Mathematics / Science Teacher Location: Shapleigh School Reports To: Anne Ellis, Principal Shapleigh School Position Start Date: August 28, 2024Required Certification: General Elementary Endorsement (020) or Certifiable in the State of MaineApplication Deadline: Open until filledThe Kittery School District is currently seeking a full time teacher of 5th grade Mathematics and Science at Shapleigh School in Kittery, Maine.The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background and experience in teaching Mathematics and Science in an upper elementary school classroom. Knowledge and experience teaching using a Proficiency Based Learning system is preferred. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively on a two person interdisciplinary team, be able to use data to drive instruction, and have a strong understanding of developmentally appropriate instructional practices to meet the diverse needs of students in a heterogeneous classroom. You must be able to pass a background test through the State of Maine Education Department.
