Behavioral Interventionist-Full TimeHiring Range: $24.94/hr. - $30.55/hr.

The Mental Health Behavioral Interventionist provides on-going supervision, behavioral and therapeutic support for children enrolled in Sequoia Program,MadronaDay Treatment and Restorative School.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Participate in interventions as necessary to encourage students to follow the School expectations.Identify issues which impede the student’s successful social and emotional behavior and assist in creating plans that address these issues;
    • Provide immediate, therapeutic crisis interventions as necessary;
    • Provide one-to-one interventions for students as necessary.This may include supporting students transitioning into other schools within the student’s home district;
    • Partner with the families of students enrolled in the program as necessary.Help families learn skills to assist the student outside of school, build a stronger relationship with the school system, and access appropriate resources for their student.This may include conducting family meetings, providing outreach to family homes, coordinating with other systems, or helping connect the family with additional resources or services.
    • As needed, organize and implement social skills and therapeutic groups with the students enrolled in the program.
    • Provide guidance/coaching to school faculty as requested. This may include classroom observations, faculty presentations and participation in family staffing or multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Document client progress to maintain a permanent record of client activity according to established policies and procedures.
  • As needed, support the ongoing operations of the program. This may include purchasing and organizing supplies for a student store, stocking and operating the program’s kitchen, or organizing additional school activities such as breaks, physical education, or field trips.
  • In addition to theabove, any other responsibilities appropriate to the position and not specifically listed in the job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, social services, or behavioral health fieldORFour or more year’s relevant experienceORan equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with children within the structure of an intensive, milieu based program. 
LICENSURE:Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration.
Per the RCW 28A.400.303, employees of contractors with school districts that “have regularly scheduled unsupervised access to children” are required to go through FBI fingerprinting.
Food Handler’s Permit is required forMadrona, preferred for Sequoia Program and Restorative School.
Preferred Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE:Intermediate (minimum 3 years of job-related experience)
Experience working with Special Education population strongly preferred.
Educational or classroom management experience preferred.
The capacity to work well with children and families.
