KIPP Public Schools Northern California is Hiring an Operations Associate (Part Time, Temporary) - Redwood City Near Redwood, CA

Position Summary
We are looking for a part-time, temporary Operations Assistant to join our School Operations Team. The Operations Assistant supports critical day-to-day school routines and responsibilities, and helps our team manage general school operations and front office needs. Strong organizational skills, flexibility and a proven ability to positively interact with students and families are all essential characteristics. This role is a non-exempt, temporary and flexible part-time (20 hours/week) position that reports to the Director of School Operations. The start date for this role is August 1, 2024. The tentative end date is October 31, 2024.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience:
  • Previous work experience strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with basic office technology, including email and Google Suite
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Knowledge/skills required:
  • Positive attitude and friendly demeanor with ability to communicate effectively with students and families. Comfortable calling and speaking with KIPP families regarding their student(s) or student issues.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and completing tasks according to precise instructions.
  • Ability to work independently while demonstrating the capacity to work well with others and build relationships across teams.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required. 
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Support General Campus Operations
  • Ensure that the school nutrition program runs smoothly and safely by setting up breakfast and/or lunch daily; cleaning tables and chairs following meal service distributing meals to students; and ensuring all required food safety procedures are followed.
  • Setup and support student arrival, dismissal and other whole-school transitions
  • Setup and take down play equipment and materials, provide opportunities for students to play organized games during recess and supervise students during recess and before and after school
  • Help children safely cross the street at key locations and remind drivers of the presence of pedestrians
  • Support and supervise students to resolve conflicts independently and communicate with teachers and staff regarding students’ behavior
  • Administer basic first aid, including helping students with ice packs and bandaids
  • Support School Operations Team with other initiatives and operational needs at school, as needed or directed by the DIrector of school Operations
Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands
Physical
Ability to navigate the office and school campus, and hold meetings in different spaces. Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for long periods of time and actively converse and participate with others. Ability to access and utilize technology. Occasional lifting/carrying of equipment and supplies up to 50 lbs.
Mental
The stress of deadlines and normal work standards, ability to work with interruptions, read, enter data, memorize and recall objects and people.
Environmental
Office and classroom settings, with occasional interruptions and distractions. 
Classification
Part-time, temporary non-exempt position and based on a school calendar and time-off schedule.

Compensation
We are dedicated to you and your family's well-being! KIPP offers a competitive salary as well as a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and transportation benefits. The starting pay rate is between $28.37 and $33.17 per hour based on previous experience.
