SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are currently seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Monitor to join our team. This is an entry level position and perfect for the individual that is just getting into the safety industry.
The Construction Safety Monitor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our construction sites and personnel.
This individual will work closely with project managers, supervisors, and workers to enforce safety regulations and promote a culture of safety on-site.
There will also be some safety responsibilities at a steel fabrication facility. This role will report directly to the company safety manager.
A successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills and be self-motivated.
Conduct daily safety inspections of construction sites to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Provide guidance and support to site personnel on safety procedures, equipment usage, and best practices.
Enforce company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Conduct safety training sessions for new hires and existing employees, covering topics such as fall protection, electrical safety, and hazardous materials handling.
Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement site-specific safety plans and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from site personnel.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
2 to 3 years of experience.
Previous experience in construction safety or a related field.
Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to individuals at all levels of the organization.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards.
Certification in OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and General Industry or willingness to obtain certification.
OSHA 500 / 501 preferred but not required.)
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in occupational health and safety are a plus.
CPR 1st AID
Knowledgeable in Subpart R
A valid driver's license is required.
