Kingspan Insulated Panels is Hiring a Lead Maintenance Technician - Mechanical Near Mattoon, IL

Job Summary:
Lead maintenance technician will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operation and maintenance of the electrical systems and production equipment. Your expertise in troubleshooting, safety compliance, and team leadership will be essential for the success of the maintenance department. You will oversee a team of technicians and coordinate the maintenance activities to ensure high operational efficiency and adherence of safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by implementing and enforcing safety guidelines and procedures. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.
  • Adhere to compliance code of conduct, uphold clear, ethical, and honest business communications. Maintain legal compliance and uphold commitment to a more sustainable future.
  • Report issues to the Engineering Manager through the appropriate escalation procedure and communicate information gathered on shift to all team members and manager.
  • Ensure good practices are being followed for inventory management, parts ordering, housekeeping, and other maintenance administrative tasks to ensure the long-term continuous improvement of the department.
  • Responsible for managing a group of technicians and contractors to include technical guidance, training, and support to ensure teams perform effectively and efficiently. You will also be responsible for evaluating performance, providing feedback, and addressing any performance issues.
  • Troubleshooting and repairs through the diagnostics of mechanical issues, this will include Hydraulic and pneumatic systems, heavy industrial equipment, metal forming machinery, automated conveying and packaging equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret P&ID’s for hydraulic, pneumatic, and chemical delivery systems.
  • Preventative maintenance activities of all manufacturing equipment and associated plant room services.
  • General facility maintenance as required, including structure, lighting, doors, HVAC, Compressed air systems.
  • Conduct, Uphold & Stimulate routine planned maintenance activities and record within CMM system.
  • Promotes a sense of urgency and supports all Health and Safety initiatives.
  • Sustain structured communication.

Other Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • *Shift flexibility needed & occasionally work in a rotating shift pattern
  • *Prepared to work 11 hour shift
  • Be available for overtime as needed or required by management and flexibility in times taken for breaks / lunches to support production and maintenance activities
  • Experience in a continuous automated production environment is essential
  • Strong troubleshooting ability
  • Basic Automation skillset
  • Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who uses a 'hands-on' approach
  • Proven ability to complete tasks within specified timeline.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, Windows and e-mail
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations

Education/ Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Proven leadership experience.
  • 5 years’ experience in the mechanical trade.
  • Strong understanding of automated machinery, mechanical drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Metal forming experience desirable.
  • Welding / machine shop equipment competency desirable.
  • Forklift/Scissor lift/Arial Work Platform license preferable.
