The Nurse Manager assumes the responsibility for directing and supervising the nursing staff in the provision of nursing care on the unit level. He/she is accountable for the implementation of the philosophy, goals, and standards of Nursing Administration and the individual unit.

• Directs patient care according to hospital policies/procedures and accepted standards of practice and care.
• Evaluates nursing care given and assures appropriate documentation, guidance, and supervision of staff members.
• Selects nursing personnel for hire.
• Evaluates staff, including disciplinary action.
• Provides teaching and staff development.
• Provides direct nursing care to patients as needed.

• Bachelor of science in Nursing required.
• Three years of clinical experience in an acute care setting required.
• Current MS RN licensure required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Current ACLS certification or must obtain within the first year of employment.
• Must be able to read and write the English language.
• Must have proficiency of skills per checklist.
• Must be able to perform considerable standing, walking, and lifting.
• Give evidence of knowledge and ability to use proper channels of communication.
• Able to remain calm and function under high stress.
• Promotes harmonious inter- and intra-department relationships.
• Fully vaccinated COVID-19 status preferred.
