Kingman Unified School District 20 is Hiring a School Psychologist Near Kingman, AZ

As a School Psychologist at Kingman Unified School District #20, you'll play a pivotal role in assessing student needs, providing emotional support, and developing strategies to enhance the educational experience for all. We believe in building strong, resilient learners and your expertise will be key in helping us achieve this mission. 

The service delivery model in our district is intervention-based with discrepancy model. Responsibilities include assessment, individual and group counseling (if desired), consultation, and behavioral interventions.

What We Offer:

  • Base pay of $71,000-$74,000, which includes $3,000 in classroom site fund money to be paid in one lump sum in July 2024
  • 166-day employment contract, working Monday-Thursday from July through May
  • Supplemental agreement available for additional compensated hours

To Qualify:

  • Master's or more advanced degree from an accredited institution
  • School Psychologist, PreK-12 Certificate issued by Arizona Department of Education.
    • Certificate requirements include one of the following:
      • Graduate Program: Completion of a graduate program in school psychology, consisting of at least 60 graduate semester hours; -OR-
      • Doctoral Program: Completion of a doctoral program in psychology and completion of a re-training program in school psychology from an accredited institution or Board-approved program with a letter of institutional endorsement from the head of the school psychology program; -OR-
      • Experience: Five years of experience within the last ten years working full-time in the capacity of a school psychologist in a school setting serving any portion of grades kindergarten through twelve. Please submit a verification letter, completed and signed by District Superintendent or Personnel/HR Director to verify experience; -OR-
      • Nationally Certified: Verification of a Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) Credential; -OR-
      • American Board Diploma: Verification of a diploma in school psychology from the American Board of School Psychology.
    • Certificate requirements include one of the following:
      • A verification letter from a university department chair or designee verifying the completion of a supervised internship of at least 1,200 clock hours with a minimum of 600 clock hours in a school setting.Note: This verification letter is required in addition to the official transcripts documenting the internship. -OR
      • Three (3) years of experience as a certified school psychologist within the last ten years may be substituted for the internship requirement.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card with an IVP number through the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Kingman is known as “The Heart of Historic Route 66” and is ideally situated between Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, and Lake Havasu City. For those who enjoy a smaller community, but like a big city nearby, Las Vegas is approximately an hour and a half northwest of Kingman which is great for day or weekend trips! For those who love fishing or water activities, Bullhead City is a short 30 minute drive and located on the Colorado River. If you like nature, you have the opportunity to enjoy the spring flowers just outside Oatman, AZ approximately 30 minutes west of Kingman and also get to experience forestry and wildlife year-round - including snow in the winter - just 20 minutes away in the Hualapai Mountains. Also, Lake Havasu City, AZ is only one hour away from Kingman and is a hot spot for tourism and a popular location during Spring Break.
