Lunenburg Elementary School seeks a dynamic kindergarten/first-grade teacher to join our dedicated team of highly engaged professionals who offer multi-grade sharing and learning opportunities. This is a one (1) year position. Candidates must be enthusiastic, inquisitive, committed to collaborative teaming, and interested in joining a developing professional learning community.Experience with early literacy, FLI Foundations, workshop model, Eureka Mathematics, positive behavior interventions, and Responsive Classroom are priorities. We seek creative, passionate teachers who love children and, with their vertical team, will provide a strong foundation for our early elementary students.
A sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people is necessary. The individual will be part of a team that includes special educators and interventionists. Lunenburg Elementary School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant Northeast Kingdom of Vermont community.
We operate seven preK-8th grade schools ranging from 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have choice and may opt to attend one of the traditional independent schools -- Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy -- or another high school of their choosing. We are about three hours from Montreal, Boston, and Portland, ME.
Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Both Littleton, NH, and St. Johnsbury, VT, have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
