King's Daughters is Hiring a RN Clinical Coordinator Near Ashland, KY

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Ensures compliance with physician orders, care coordination and development of policies and procedures for Clinic. The Clinical Coordinator is held accountable for patient care, patient education, clinical decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. Serves as the liaison between the patient and provider and responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the delivery of health care.
  • DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
    • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; answering patient grievances; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Serves as a preceptor and resource person in assisting nursing staff to develop skills in the performance of assigned activities/perform duties of staff nurse as necessary, assist in the coordination of activities of nursing staff with other personnel and services engaged in caring for patients
    • Collaborates with the physician for effective and quality care management to insure timely interventions and optimal patient outcomes.
    • Assists with assessments and screening of patients, provides laboratory results to patients after physician review and prepares prescription prior authorizations, follows up on prescription authorization appeals or transitions to patient assistance programs, continuously collaborates with specialty pharmacies, insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, advise other services of condition or circumstances affecting plans for diagnosis, therapy or patient activity
    • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of patient care policies and procedures designed to improve operational efficiency in the clinic, participates in the development and implementation of organizational and departmental goals.
    • Maintains professional growth and development through an outgoing process of formal and informal education and clinical nursing study, identifies self-learning needs, establishes personal goals; maintains current knowledge base and assists with providing education of health care consumer and other health care team members. Supports evidence-based practice by applying knowledge/research findings as reported in the professional literature to clinical practice.
    • Assists with coordinating and presenting weekly information to Director/Practice Manager, demonstrates effective assessment skills and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patient, based on scientific facts and principles when assessing patients. The RN will master assessment skills that are timely, objective, subjective, physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual, cultural and identify environmental needs of patients.
  • EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Minimum requirement:
      • Graduate of an accredited nursing program for Registered Nurses.
      • Current active RN license in the States of Kentucky and/or Ohio.
      • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Preferred qualifications:
      • Three to five years nursing experience, with demonstrated leadership ability preferred
  • WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    • Constantly works near moving mechanical parts
    • Constantly exposed toblood and/or body fluids andinfection.
    • Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
    • Occasionally exposed to risk of radiation
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    • Occasionally required to maintain in a stationary position (standing or sitting).
    • Frequently required to walk and move about.
    • Frequently required to operate a computer and other equipment.
    • Frequently required to use fine motor skills to handle and operate instruments/devices.
    • Constantly required to lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.
    • Frequently required to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
    • Occasionally required to lift and/or move items up to 100 pounds.
    • Constantly required to communicate with patients and other care team requiring talking and hearing. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
    • Occasionally required to position self in order to meet patient needs.
