Kitchen Assistant

Part-time 8-1pm Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• To be able to move about the kitchen and the Center easily and quickly.
• Use kitchen equipment safely.
• Washing and appropriately storing all cooking appliances, instruments, utensils and dishes.
• Sweeping and mopping the kitchen/cafeteria floors as well as wiping down all walls.
• Maintain appropriate inventory of cleaning supplies for kitchen including the dishwasher chemicals.
• Table setting and bringing meals to classrooms.

· To clean up after meals and ongoing cleaning to maintain the highest level of sanitation in the kitchen/cafeteria.

· Assisting with the unloading of delivered food supplies.

• Organizing and correctly storing food supplies.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Other duties as assigned by Center or Executive Director.

Kitchen Assistant Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven experience assisting in kitchens.
• A food handler's license.
• Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
• The ability to stand for extended periods.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to work in a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $11.00 per hour
