This position will focus on the inspection of the civil and structural components of construction projects, including standalone contracts for East Sattlig and various offsite facilities, replacements, installations, repairs and upgrades in addition to other WTD capital improvement projects that involve electrical trade work scopes. Contract value amounts vary from small <$10k work orders to large $200M standalone contracts.
You will have the opportunity to cultivate effective working relationships with contractors, consultants, project teams, and operations and maintenance staff through mutual understanding of goals, efficient communication, and trust.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate work with Project Representative, Contractor, and Operations & Maintenance team.
  • Document work performed in the Daily Inspection Report and upload to SharePoint.
  • Take photo documentation and upload to SharePoint.
  • Ensure quality work performed.
  • Apply experience and help solve construction problems.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
  • Two years of technical school training in civil engineering, or a related technical field and four (4) years of progressively responsible construction inspection or sub-professional engineering experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with managing construction activities in operational environments and knowledge of hazards and safety procedures involved.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and contract specifications as applied to wastewater treatment facility and large conveyance systems.
  • Ability to inspect materials and workmanship and recognize deficiencies and omissions requiring correction.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction laws, ordinances, codes, regulations, specifications and standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, techniques and cost factors, with emphasis on civil, structural and conveyance system installations.
  • Experience with construction in operational environments and knowledge of hazards and safety procedures involved.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing, including ability to use a computer word processing, data analysis and documentation management.
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • A valid Washington State Driver's License.
  • Ability to drive County vehicle to various job sites each day.

Working Conditions: The work associated with this position will primarily be performed onsite; this is not a telecommute position. Employees must reside in WA state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements.
Work Location: This position is anticipated to report to the East Satellite Construction at 22505 State Route 9 SE Woodinville, WA 98199. There will be an expectation to travel to various worksites throughout King and South Snohomish County as needed for your work.
Work Schedule: This position is non-exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is overtime eligible. This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. Monday through Friday.
