Neighborcare Health is Hiring a Medical Assistant, Float Per-diem ** 2 Open Positions ** Near Seattle, WA

** This position is eligible for a Float Premium of $1.25! **
Purpose
The Medical Assistant (MA) Float will provide coverage support to all Neighborcare medical clinics, contact center, or various programs located throughout Washington State. This may require traveling to multiple sites on the same day of work. When assigned to a clinic, center, or program, the MA Float performs delegated clinical and or administrative duties providing direct support to primary care providers and direct care to patients. The MA Float may also perform similar duties as a Contact Center Representative responding to clinical and outside provider calls as needed. Work in partnership and joint accountability with other team members to achieve Neighborcare Health's Mission, Guiding Principles, Service Commitments, and Goals.

In this position you will:
  • Travel to Medical Clinics, Contact Centers or various programs to provide coverage daily
  • Perform duties and responsibilities with excellence, enthusiasm, great service orientation demonstrating courteous behaviors and mannerisms, and by anticipating medical provider's needs
  • Demonstrate flexibility and readily assist other staff members. Maintains a safe and healthy work environment for patients, self and other
  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms for use by medical providers by cleaning, stocking and arranging supplies, equipment and instruments
  • Review and communicate to medical provider's appointment schedule to determine patient visit order and solicit special instructions or requests for the day, greet and escort patient to examination or treatment room in a respectful, warm and caring manner. Keep patients, medical providers, and other team members informed of medical provider's status and/or time delays throughout the day
  • Interview patient to determine reason for visit; take patient's vital signs, e.g., blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, height and weight; draw blood, administer immunizations, record information in patient's medical record; and report findings to appropriate personnel, according to WAC standard requirements
  • Instruct or assist patient in preparation for scheduled procedures, in a caring and courteous manner
  • Perform appropriate basic, routine and regular delegated medical functions as directed and within appropriate scope of practice as interred by knowledge, skill level, and Neighborcare Health guidelines (e.g.., vision screening, ear irrigations, hearing tests, hematocrit, tonometry measurements, EKG tests, collecting throat, wound, and sputum specimens, and urine cultures) using appropriate instruments, techniques, and specimen labeling process
  • Support medical providers performing routine examination and treatment procedures by attending patient during procedures and providing appropriate supplies and instruments
  • Perform routine clerical and reception duties, as required, such as, maintaining departmental logs, answering telephones and taking messages, checking in patients, and scheduling patient appointments
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting in orienting and training new staff members, transporting equipment or patient, and stocking shelves
  • Work within scope of practice and according to Neighborcare Health policies. Comply with regulatory requirements and standards of care

Required qualifications for this position include:
  • Completed an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Active WA State Department of Health Medical Assistant-Certification or Medical Assistant - Interim status with the Washington State Department of Health
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS)
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
  • Prior experience as a medical assistant
  • Prior experience in primary care or community health environment
  • Prior experience with diverse populations
  • Bi-lingual skills

Compensation
The wage range for this position is a Minimum $22.95/hour up to $31.84/hour Maximum.
Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
