Assistant to Research and Development Department (R&D Assistant) - Food Manufacturing Industry :
Compensation $22 - $29
Duties and Responsibilities :
149; The R&D Assistant serves as an integral part of the product development and marketing team.
149; Will actively participate in all activities relevant to research and product development.
149; Activities include but are not limited to : development meetings, ideation, ingredient sourcing, formulation, bench top testing, pilot and plant trials, shelf life testing, artwork and labeling, packaging concepts, and interacting with internal cross-functional teams, customers, suppliers and tradeshows.
149; The candidate will be mentored by R&D Manager, who will coach incumbent on product development; project management;
building rapport and collaborative relationships across cross-functional teams to meet company goals.
149; Support product improvement and troubleshooting.
149; Participate in testing and tastings of products.
149; Record keeping for all changes in formulas or products.
149; May cook and prepare bench top or pilot prototypes.
149; Coordinate and prepare sample requests for shipment.
149; Assist in new item set up and approval.
149; Support in Raw material and Finished product document management.
149; Support in Regulatory, packaging development and approval.
149; The candidate will have the opportunity to put the best ideas forward to actively drive growth of company and private label brands.

149; Flexibility to travel, potentially several times a year (tradeshows, customer visits)
149; A sense of urgency and ability to work in teams or independently without direct supervision as needed.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills :
149; 2 years of similar experience as R&D Assistant in the food manufacturing sector
149; Education : High School or Equivalent Diploma Required, College / Culinary Degree preferred.
149; Experience : Food service or production experience preferred, not required.
149; Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills (i.e. oral and written).
