Kindeva is seeking an experienced Plant Controller to perform and lead the accounting function for the Company’s US plants in Northridge, CA and St. Paul MN. The Plant Controller will establish a reporting structure and controls for the plant, while partnering with Kindeva’s senior management to achieve the Company’s business goals. Pharmaceutical industry is preferred. A successful candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of inventory accounting to ensure timely and accurate monthly plant reporting in accordance with US GAAP, as well as analysis of the plant’s variances, financial results and business trends to help inform senior leadership. Job Responsibilities: Accounting and Plant Reporting: Manage or perform all plant accounting operations, including inventory/cost accounting, general accounting and ad hoc billings (scrap, disposal sales, etc.) Plant annual financial planning New product costing/BOM integrity Assist in the true-up of contractual product pricing based on product costs Ensuring current SKU cost integrity during annual inventory revaluation process Manage timely month-end closing of plant accounting and various operational reports for the US plant Manage daily/weekly/monthly tracking of production performance Analyze variances and trends, including manufacturing and P&L variances Providing insights and establish predictive analytics of financial performance to stakeholders to develop and improve upon plant financial P&L and balance sheet targets Assist in the preparation of plant P&L forecasts and budgeting Plant capital project / ROI tracking & reconciliation Controls and Processes: Assist in the development of financial control structures for the US plant in conjunction with the recent implementation of a new ERP (Microsoft Dynamics 365) for the company. Ensure financial reporting integrity, safeguard Company assets and identify control risks Leadership: Assist global finance and accounting team in the development and implementation of best-in-class plant accounting practices Collaborate with US plant manager, colleagues across other functions within the Company and senior leadership to explain results, make improvements, manage projects, identify and correct inefficiencies and achieve Company goals and objectives Supervision of one staff Experience and Qualifications: In a young company with limited bureaucracy and established protocol, candidates will have bias for action and results with a hands-on approach to creating best practices where formal procedures are not fully developed. 7-10 years of experience as a Plant Controller or experience in increasingly responsible assignments in a manufacturing industry finance / accounting position Comprehensive understanding of cost accounting and inventory valuation under US GAAP Has worked primarily for manufacturing companies in competitive industries (manufacturing industry experience required) Strong experience set with leading edge manufacturing processes, continuous process improvement, quality systems and cost reduction Extensive ERP experience in a manufacturing environment required, Microsoft Dynamics preferred Bachelor’s Degree in in accounting or finance, CPA or CMA desired Strong written and verbal communication skills Advanced knowledge of Excel Ability to add value in wringing costs out of supply chain
