Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for our students. This is a paid position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities that promote the intellectual, physical, and social development of children
- Support students in their learning journey by providing individualized attention and guidance
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to create and maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment
- Assist with classroom management, including behavior management and maintaining order during activities
- Help prepare materials and resources for lessons and activities
- Provide support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, preferably in a preschool or educational setting
- Familiarity with childhood development principles and practices
- Knowledge of curriculum development and lesson planning
- Proficiency in math and literacy education for young learners
- Experience working with students with special needs, particularly those on the autism spectrum, is a plus
- Strong classroom management skills
