Registered Nurse - Health and Wellness Director

Full job description

Job Summary: The Health & Wellness Director ensures delivery of quality assisted living services focused on maximizing residents individual capabilities, implements and monitors effective Assisted Living systems; ensures clinical/health services are in compliance with community standards and State regulations, serves as a clinical resource for Community staff, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company standards.

Essential Functions:

1. Ensures quality resident care is consistently delivered in accordance with all local, state and federal guidelines

2. Collaborates and partners with physicians, pharmacy and other medical professionals to promote quality care and independence for our residents

3. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading all nursing associates including, but not limited to Wellness Nurses, Resident Care Coordinator, Resident Assistants.

4. Conducts comprehensive resident pre-admission, admission and quarterly assessments in accordance with company policy and procedures.

5. Provide on-call support for the community

6. Ensures compliance, efficiency and teams understanding of policies and procedures

7. Maintains the standards of care practice within the community.

8. Assess and monitor residents' health care needs through appropriate actions, training, consultation, and delegation

10. Order and maintain inventory of health-related supplies and equipment for residents.

11. Responsible for staff performance, staff recruitment, staff retention, and staff development.

12. Responsible for collaborating with other departments to ensure quality resident care and staff development.

13. Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing a budget process for staffing and clinical services.

14. Evaluates the quality and cost-effectiveness of staffing and services within the goals of the community.

15. Serves as spokesperson for caregiving matters and represents the community with a professional demeanor.

16. Participates in appropriate meetings and committees.

17. Meets with families as requested.

18. Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.

19. Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality.

Education and Experience: Maintain a current active RN license or LVN. A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience and a minimum of 2 years of people leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Quality assurance/improvement and staff development experience preferred. Must have current CPR certification, or obtain certification within 90 days of hire, and remain current during employment. Must have current First Aid certification (if required by state). If required, First Aid certification must remain current during employment.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Exhibit good time management and organization skills.

2. Possess the ability to handle complex issues.

3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills.

4. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).

6. Express compassion for residents, staff and guests on a consistent basis.

7. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

8. Must be knowledgeable of nursing administration practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing administration functions in an assisted living community.

9. Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the resident care department.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Nursing: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

  • BLS Certification (Preferred)
  • RN (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

  • Statesville, NC (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Statesville, NC: Relocate before starting work (Required)
