What you’ll do

As the EHS Manager you will provide leadership by developing programs and strategies for effective environmental health, safety, and security programs for the facility. You will have a hands-on leadership style and be capable of driving change and influencing others. And this is how you’ll do it…

  • Develop, implement, and administer site safety programs, policies and procedures. Monitor to ensure compliance of training and records.
  • Develop and execute year-round safety awareness programs
  • Coordinate, deliver and track training programs including but not limited to initial orientation, annual training and “on the spot” training.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements
  • Partner with HR to report workers compensation claims to the insurer and ensure effective claims management; provide guidance on effective return to work strategies
  • Ensure 100% compliance with PIT training program; serve as forklift certified trainer
  • Serve as the plant resource regarding best work practices
  • Participate in post-accident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement activity and maintain EHS related KPIs; responsible for tracking EHS metrics within plant scorecard
  • Evaluate jobs, workstations, cells for appropriate ergonomic and safety issues. Train supervisors in performing job safety assessments.
  • Represent Creative Snacks in governmental reporting and audit requirements.
  • Manage the security function at the facility

You have….

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science Safety or Health, or related technical field
  • Eight (8) years or more of progressively more responsible work experience in safety related management
  • Exposure to and knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Certified Safety Professional preferred; Knowledge of Federal, State and local EHS regulations
  • Ability to:
    • Influence others to achieve improved safety performance
    • Communicate effectively, orally and in writing
    • Develop, write, and present required programs and training
    • Maintain awareness of the importance of the belief “that all injuries can be prevented”.
