Job Description

UGrad Program Manager has a strong background in social work case management, school system experience and program management to implement and direct an education advocate program for children and youth in foster care. This is a vital role that requires hands on management of a team of education advocates who each maintain 12 – 15 cases of elementary, middle, high school, and college students in foster care. The innovative program’s purpose is to facilitate education and improve high school, trade school and college graduation rates for children and youth in foster care. Advocates regularly meet with students at the student’s school and home locations to facilitate education success. Barriers to education will be identified along with implementing solutions for success. Manager conducts highly structured weekly supervision and case review meetings with UGrad team to ensure that advocates meet weekly with the students and monitor their behavior, performance and outcomes. Manager may also monitor a small case load of about 4 students with a student-centered approach. The Program Manager reports to the Program Director and the President and Founder. UGrad Academy team provides individualized support to ensure that students in foster care have the opportunities and resources needed to succeed with their education, graduate on time and transition to young adulthood. They assist students to develop a vision for his or her future. Educational outcomes are measured and monitored for program success. Individual must be motivated, committed and proactive. Manager will travel throughout the state to meet with school and agency liaisons and promote program.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Education Level: Master’s degree is preferred in a related field such as social work or education. Bachelor degree is a minimum requirement.

· Experience Required: At least five years’ experience in foster care case management, social work supervision, knowledge of Delaware’s school system and program development is required.

· Other Requirements: Delaware residency is required. Background check required. Own transportation is required. Some travel throughout state is required. Some evening and weekend hours. Spanish bilingual speaking is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

· Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality and effective programming.

· Advanced decision-making skills are required to manage a team of advocates, and interact with multiple agencies

· Track and analyze outcome measurements of student indicators with specialized software program.

· Ability to manage staff with positive and healthy working relationships.

· Ability to provide leadership to team of advocates towards student’s educational success

· Collaborate and coordinate services with community agencies in a professional manner.

· Obtain referrals of students from approved sources and make referrals to community agencies as needed to ensure success.

· Ability to work with individuals of diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds and background and understanding of different learning styles required.

· Strong organizational, reporting, and data management skills, with experience with excel spreadsheets and database management programs.

· Commitment to excellence and integrity.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and behavioral management skills.

· Ability to successfully manage time and prioritize workload.

· Caring and thoughtful interpersonal manner.

· Duties to facilitate program as needed

· Transportation and the ability to travel within the state of Delaware is required

· Meet with students and evaluate for intake based on appropriateness for program.

· Manage advocates for completion of notes, student visits, and duties.

UGrad Manager will provide management, planning and monitoring of education advocates, and be held to measurements that demonstrate improved educational outcomes and graduation rates for children, teens and youth enrolled in the program. Building relationships is fundamental to the team of support. Manager will also provide effective case work for both advocate team and their own cases.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
