Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician I

Job Summary: Performs routine repair and maintenance of facility buildings, grounds, other equipment and systems as required.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maintains and inspects building components such as locksets, door hardware, roofs and glass glazing
• Inspects and maintains equipment components such as overhead doors, dock levelers, dock sump pumps, warehouse racks and hoists and lifting devices
• Maintains other equipment, such as air tools, oil skimmers, paint systems, projectors and irrigation systems
• Performs ice and snow removal
• Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team member
• Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• 1 – 3 years previous facility maintenance experience
• Ability to use a pallet jack, hand truck, hoists, and scissor lifts required
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form
• Capable of effectively presenting information to internal and external groups
• Must have basic computer skills
• Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Must have valid driver’s license and clean MVR
• Must pass background checks and drug screen

Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required

Work Environment:

• Conditions will vary
• Exposure to seasonal cold and heat
• Consistent skin exposure to oils, greases, adhesives, paints, and other chemicals
• Frequent exposure to oscillating movement of extremities or whole body, proximity to mechanical parts, moving vehicles and electrical currents
• Continuous exposure to atmospheric conditions that may affect the respiratory system
• PPE required in specific areas

Physical Requirements:

• Repetitive use of hands
• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
• Lifting, pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs.
