Description
POSITION PURPOSE: To ensure our guests have a safe and comfortable stay by protecting them, our associates and our property. To help create an environment that keeps guests inspired and eager to return.
This is a full-time hourly position that is eligible for benefits. Shifts will be Tuesday-Saturday from 4:30PM-1:00AM.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Provide security coverage for the Hotel.
* Regularly patrol lobby, property perimeter, guestroom floors and public areas.
* Provide security coverage during all special events, preventing harm or injury to Hotel's guests, associates and property.
* Confer with Hotel leadership, engage with guests and associates and interrogate suspicious persons.
* Proactively detect and investigate disturbances.
* Respond to and investigate any potential complaints, theft, fighting, vandalism or accidents.
* Complete investigations and incident reports for security incidents and forward reports to the appropriate Hotel leaders.
* Complete incident reports regarding injured employees or guests on Hotel premises and forward reports to the appropriate Hotel leaders.
* Proactively identify unsafe conditions and missing or inoperative safety equipment.
* Warn and/or eject disruptive individuals from the premises and caution careless persons in order to avoid accident or injury.
* Provide assistance to accident victims and complete related incident reports; contact emergency medical personnel, if necessary.
* Respond to medical emergencies, if necessary. May be required to conduct CPR or administer first aid as the first to arrive upon the scene.
* Respond to emergency alarms within the Hotel and investigate the probable cause. Notify the appropriate personnel of the status and conclusion of the investigation.
* Notify team of presence of suspicious persons.
* Respond to guest requests for assistance regarding operation of in-room safes.
* Responsible for distribution and inventory of Hotel keys to authorized personnel.
* Inspect employee packages upon entering and exiting the building, as needed and only as directed by Human Resources.
* Additional duties as assigned by property leadership.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* High school graduate or equivalent
* Must be able to clearly communicate with guests, visitors, management and coworkers
* Must be able to provide legible written communication and direction
* One year of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Some training in hospitality industry is preferred.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
