Kimley-Horn is Hiring a Senior Construction Engineering Inspector Near Saint Paul, MN

Overview:

Kimley-Horn is looking for a Senior Construction Inspector to join our Twin Cities office.

We continue to grow our Minnesota construction administration practice, across multiple project disciplines. Our Construction Inspectors provide exceptional construction oversight on significant projects including Light Rail Transit, Bus Rapid Transit, Structures, Roadway, Municipal, and Aviation projects.

Responsibilities:
  • The successful candidate will represent our clients interest providing excellent construction administration inspection services for a wide variety of Transportation and Municipal projects
  • Conduct daily construction observations to ensure compliance with approved contract documents. Knowledge of drawings, specifications, and client engineering standards will serve to provide exceptional oversight as our owners representative
  • Our inspectors will work together with Project Engineers to create, issue, and maintain Construction Administration documents such as material testing reports, RFI's, Change Orders, daily diaries, monthly pay applications, and final project documentation, etc.
  • Provide observation reports that monitor the construction schedule/progress including photo documentation
  • Review and confirm/modify approve monthly contractor payment applications against measured and observed contract bid items
  • Represent the owner in daily contractor project communication and correspondence
  • Coordinate and monitor all testing, required within the contract documents, in accordance with Federal, State, and Municipal guidelines
  • Organize and participate in Pre-Construction and periodic construction meetings
  • Perform project punch lists and final documentation in accordance with owners requirements
Qualifications:
  • Prefer a minimum of a 2-year Civil technical degree
  • Minimum of 5 years construction inspection experience in Public Transportation and Municipal projects
  • Current MnDOT Construction Technician Certifications in Grading, Bituminous, Concrete disciplines. Preferred Certifications in Bridge, Signals/Lighting, and Landscaping. We will provide additional certification training as necessary to grow your expertise.
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite software experience such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Highly self-motivated inspector that desires to provide exceptional service to our clients
  • An individual that is equally skilled at independently leading their own projects or serving as a valued team member within a complex mega project
  • Valid MnDOT Class D driver's license required #LI-JH1
